The trio also pays homage to the songwriting and improvisational music of Miles Davis and Charlie Parker by featuring compositions by those artists in their setlists. The Blessed Relief Jazz trio has a wide range of repertoire that can fit any venue and space. From explosive bebop to groove-oriented jazz blues to the swingin’ Great American Songbook\, the Pacific Northwest trio is driven by the melodically rich standards of the genre. The trio’s name\, Blessed Relief\, is from a Frank Zappa song on his jazz-oriented album The Grand Wazoo.
