Sassafras! is a Eugene, Oregon–based band blending classic folk-rock and Americana from the 50’s – 80’s into a surprising taste of auditory candy. Sassafras began in 2023 when Virgil, Brent & Kamden gathered in a cozy living room to swap songs they grew up with. Playing their first show in July 2023, they have built a dedicated following with their inviting energy, musical chemistry, and crafting songs that feel like having a drink with your goofy – but beloved – friends.The core of the band is still Virgil Cater percussion, Kamden Flowers vocals, and Brent Hample acoustic-electric guitar/vocals.They cover songs from the likes of Neil Young, America, Blind Faith, the Beatles, Iris Dement, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, and John Prine. Sassafras! brings a fresh and playful vibe to every show. Their performances are known for warm harmonies, storytelling lyrics, and having fun engaging with the audience.
